PRRP installment 1: Fortune Cookie Chinese Cafe (CLOSED)

We are beginning our Public Road Restaurant Project with the Fortune Cookie, which we've never been to before even though it has been here since before we moved to Lafayette in 1989. They seem to do mostly a takeout business, but we are dining in. Very polite 11-year-old waiter and decent food.

We learned later that many people are leery of Fortune Cookie because of its unappealing frontage, while for others, it is a favorite go-to spot for takeout or dine-in Chinese food. I say don't worry about the outside and give it a try. I liked the food, and it is a family business.
